Wasteland: Kick in the Eye

So here we are finally. WASTELAND: Kick in the Eye (#29) is coming out tomorrow (7/14/10). This is all very exciting for me. If you're in the vicinity of a comic shop, head on out and grab one tomorrow! Here's a sneak peek at a few pages from the issue:

It was a boat-load of fun playing with the characters and environments as well as having the opportunity to explore my influences in greater detail. I'd have to say that while inking these pages, I looked to Jorge Zaffino the most. I've actually made a slide show of a lot of his work that I just cycle all day while inking. It gives me the ability to look up from my desk and see how it's supposed to be done.

I'd like to thank:
~Shawn Crystal for his unrelenting guidance as I stepped into my current style with an inky brush in hand.
~Nolan Woodard who was actually my professor during the creation of the whole book. The constant critiques and feedback helped me tremendously.
~Roy Richardson who, back in the day, showed me what a brush was and introduced me to Argentina's finest inkers.
~Chris Schweizer who was actually a great ego boost through the whole process, and the best safari guide to get you through a Convention.
-and last but not least-
~James Lucas Jones and Antony Johnston who grabbed me and said, "DRAW!"

  6. As someone who just found out Mitten isn't going to be the series artist I was bummed. BUT if these pages are any indication it looks like the series is in more than capable hands. Can't wait to see more, keep up the good wook.
